Synopsis
The lives of Enrico Mattei, one of the most closely monitored and surveilled men by the Anglo-American intelligence agencies, and Eugenio Cefis, one of the most enigmatic figures in recent Italian history, intersect amid mysteries, intelligence services, and crimes linked to the battle for oil. Concurrently a magistrate reopens the investigation into the incident that killed Mattei. Corruption and trials are interwoven in a story of ambition, friendship, and power, painting a ruthless portrait of contemporary Italy.
